SHYNE is about more than just self care products—we want to uplift and support our community. This December, we had the incredible opportunity to take that mission to Accra, Ghana, where we hosted a charity event in collaboration with The Distant Relatives Project to give back in a meaningful way.
Why Ghana?
Ghana means a lot to us. Our founder, Alvin Mills, has Ghanaian roots, and the country plays a key role in SHYNE’s journey. The raw shea butter we use in our products comes from Ghana, and without the country’s influence, SHYNE wouldn’t be what it is today. This event was our way of showing love and appreciation to the people who have helped shape our brand.
What We Did
The charity event was an unforgettable experience. We were able to provide:

Over 100 free haircuts with the help of local barbers.

Sanitary products and school supplies to support students and families.

Medical screenings to help improve access to healthcare.

Catering so everyone could enjoy a meal together.
The energy at the event was incredible. Seeing the smiles, hearing the stories, and feeling the love reminded us why we do what we do. It wasn’t just about giving back—it was about connection, community, and making a real difference in people’s lives.

This is just the beginning. We’re committed to doing more in underserved communities that have supported us.
